Case Study - SEO and e-commerce - Brighton Plumbing
Background
Brighton Plumbing had been in existence since 1995 and had a website for previous 5 years. The website was a very basic with no e-commerce facility and was rarely on the front page of Google for their desired keywords
The objective
- Provide Brighton Plumbing a new website
- Provide full eCommerce facilities with online payment capability
- Achieve first page rankings for Brighton and surrounding areas for organic searches
The Webyell solution
We chose to use Joomla! as this provided for an excellent content management system and eCommerce facilities through Virtuemart
The main focus for SEO was to hook into searches where people were close to a buying decision. this meant we were going for long tailed searches on product names and codes
Actions undertaken
- Undertake a keyword analysis based around long tail product searches
- Designed the new website
- Built the website with product landing pages to aid organic SEO searches
- Helped propogate over 500 products into the e-commerce system
- Oversaw the first 6 months SEO work to drive the early traffic
Results
By the end of the campaign Brighton plumbing achieved the following
- A 12 fold return on their investment over 18 months
- No 1 rankings on Google for the 3 top keywords
- 190% increase in traffic with bounce rate down from 63% to 28%
